19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[b]did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[c] because he will save his people from their sins…24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
Matthew 1: 19-25 of the bible. (I want to start calling it the book)
“Joseph was religiously correct according to the revealed law of GOD at the time to ‘put Mary away’ ie divorce her, ie break his engagement to her because she was (inexplicably) pregnant. He was more right however and brave to obey GOD’s instructions instead of and above said law.‘The law’ would have killed her wether he rejected her quietly or not. Of course GOD would have made a way to save his child’s life without him but what a wasted opportunity it would have been for him and the male gender in general to have had no part in the incarnation of God on earth. He chose God’s Word over tradition and probably suffered for it. Today it’s not hard to see that his kind of heart is rare because he did it anyway. In a world where flaky, pain averse men abound you’ll be hard pressed to find ones who swiftly choose and align with GOD’s word over pain simply because of a dream. It’s no wonder GOD chose him to father Himself. Of course now Mary is practically worshipped while he is all but ignored but what an indisputable honor (and a mad flex) it is now though in hindsight to have been the only man in history trusted and appointed to be the ‘assistant father’ to Messiah on earth. However, we can acknowledge that privilege whilst simultaneously recognizing what a real hardship that must have been and understand the harsh reality of what a great sacrifice it cost to actually live out that calling/assignment for years even after Jesus’s birth. The least (no doubt) of his troubles would have been what “people” said about him and his divinely appointed family but worse still must have been what they thought, agreed and decided against him as a community first in their hearts and then with their actions. Glad as I am that he accepted and lived the true purpose for his life by picking GOD’s opinion over the resounding “voice of society” (let alone his relatives), I still have empathy for the pain and suffering he must have endured. Thankfully, only an eternity of joy awaits him now. In the end, he won. May we all win our own assigned races no matter the pains involved”.

Man of GOD, Could HE trust you today?
