Discern, Discern, Discern.
“Evil people give bad advice on purpose.
I wonder if Jonadab was specifically the son of that David’s brother who enviously accused him of pride when he showed up to deliver food from their father at the battlefront and then proceeded to try and gaslight david into believing he was a show off, basically tempting him to misbehave and miss his infamous destiny changing episode with the giant goliath. I’m genuinely curious.
If so, then that’s what’s called a second hand hater because In that case, the dude obviously inherited his father’s envy for his uncle the king which he took out on his cousin.
Never accept the advice of one who secretly hates you. I guess this is the part where I mention that only God can help you with discerning the true hearts of men. A simple suspicion or ‘bad feeling’ alone is not enough to determine a person’s heart posture towards you.
When these people speak, I suggest that you hear them out to be politely, if you can but never actually do whatever they’ve tell you to no matter how serious or trivial the subject of the counsel unless of course GOD has confirmed it. Never ever follow them on your own without God’s backing.
GOD must have the final word on all of your decisions.
