Today I learn more about the British Class System. I’ve known about this of course but only recently. (The last 5 years or so to be precise) Besides, I quite enjoy these humorous yet succinct history lessons from our eloquent video presenters above.
Obviously, merely acquiring LIGHT on any subject matter is always tremendously appreciated but as you know, the British empire did in fact (in its heyday) literally spread its tentacles throughout the known world/earth.
Of course this is all now necessitated by to the fact that I simply wasn’t raised to see that classes of people existed. If my parents knew about this, well they did an excellent job making sure that I didn’t. As a consequence, I’ve never once in my life made a single decision based on ‘class’.
The problem is that loads of people actually care an awful lot about this stuff so even if I don’t, perhaps I should know it’s inner workings because for some, this is their entire identity. The truth is for many people the class system is the very bedrock of their identities, the foundation upon which they’ve built their entire existence. So, It would be very foolish of me to not at the very least acknowledge its existence.
History is always always better learned through humor. Otherwise is a drag. #NewSeries
